OurParcel Ltd same-day courier, registered as OurParcel Ltd in January 2024 and officially launching in August 2024 (company number: 15432574), is a technology company based in Derby that connects businesses and individuals with local same-day couriers for their pickups and drop-offs. OurParcel Ltd does not own its own couriers or vehicles; it has courier partners who are fully self-employed with their own vehicles and insurances. OurParcel courier partners are required to have Goods In Transit (GIT) insurance that can cover a combined minimum total of £10,000 in value before they are allowed to deliver with OurParcel. Goods that are above a combined total of £10,000 will only be covered up to £10,000; however, customers can choose to buy their own insurance to cover the rest.
Whilst OurParcel always thoroughly checks to make sure courier partners have valid GIT insurance, OurParcel does not take any responsibility for couriers who don’t have or have invalid GIT insurance and does not offer to pay any damages that may occur as a result of courier partners who don’t have or have invalid GIT insurance.
The role of OurParcel Ltd as a technology company is to connect a business or individual requiring a courier service to an independent self-employed courier to offer the required service. A self-employed courier has the right to reject an order; this includes, but is not limited to, rejecting an offer while being offered a job, after accepting and traveling to the pickup point, and once arrived at the actual pickup point. However, the courier may not reject an order after picking it up; they must deliver it to the recipient. In the case of a vehicle breakdown or any other emergencies that mean the courier is unable to complete the delivery, OurParcel will attempt to dispatch another courier who will complete the delivery instead. OurParcel Ltd does not take any responsibility for the courier's actions, including but not limited to their behaviour while picking up the order, damages to the order while in their control, or orders lost or stolen while in their control. The courier is solely responsible as a third party providing the courier service to the business or individual in need of their service through the OurParcel platform.
You have the right to cancel anytime and receive your money back, minus a small service fee, before your courier has been dispatched. Once your courier is dispatched, you can still cancel, minus a charge for fuel lost while traveling towards your initial pickup point and the service fee.
When requesting a courier, it is OurParcel’s belief that the order is packaged and ready to be picked up. This means any long waiting times may result in additional fees that will be calculated using the current or above national minimum wage and the time our courier waited at the pickup point. This may also include drop-off point waiting time.
Whilst our courier partners will always help with loading and unloading, there may be additional fees depending on how many parcels or items and their weight you need delivering. The fees will be calculated using the current or above national minimum wage and our estimated time that we think it will take our courier to finish loading or unloading. Fewer parcels or items will not result in additional fees. After loading, for safety purposes, all vehicle doors must close properly. Our courier partners have the right to reject excessive loads that prevent vehicle doors from closing properly.
OurParcel base fee is £6.66 for 0-2 miles and £2.66 per mile thereafter. These prices are only for inner-city deliveries and for users looking for a courier with a small car. These fees can go up or down depending on the vehicle requested and/or the city you are based in. Longer distances may have slightly different calculations. Our prices can be affected by a range of factors that include, but are not limited to, tolls, traffic, weather, etc. The above prices are exclusive of VAT.
OurParcel picks up and drops off a range of parcels and items, which include, but are not limited to, items bought in the shop or from suppliers, such as groceries, clothes, tools, flowers, etc. OurParcel can also pick up household items for moving purposes or to throw away. For items that need to be thrown away, a business or individual must know both the pickup and drop-off addresses. OurParcel or its courier partners do not take any responsibility for the contents of any items or items inside parcels or items in any other packaging that are given to OurParcel courier partners. The sole responsibility for the items remains with the sender who requested the courier.
OurParcel does not accept illegal and/or hazardous products, which include, but are not limited to: pressurised containers - such as aerosols, oxygen tanks, or fire extinguishers. Illegal items - goods that are illegal, the carriage of which is illegal, or the supply of which to the recipient is illegal. Magnetised materials - with a magnetic field strength of 0.159 A/m or more at a distance of 2.1 m from the outside of the package. Weapons and replica weapons - including decorative, deactivated, or air-powered weapons. Drugs - any medicinal, narcotic, or psychoactive substance controlled under the UK’s current Misuse of Drugs legislation, including medical tests. Human and animal remains, including, without limitation, ashes. Live animals - including, but not limited to, mammals, reptiles, fish, invertebrates, amphibians, birds, insects, larvae, and pupae. Any combustible or toxic substance or contents that could react dangerously with other substances, including, without limitation, serums and vaccines, pesticides, poisonous, toxic and infectious substances, radioactive materials, and pathogens. For example: clinical, environmental, and medical waste; Ebola and anthrax.
The additional free collection offer you receive can only be claimed alongside your initial collection and cannot be claimed later on. The additional free collection must be within a short walking distance of the original collection. If the distance is longer, our courier partner has the right to reject the additional collection, and you may have to pay an additional fee for the courier to collect it. The free collection offer is for the customer who requested OurParcel courier to collect their order on their behalf, as well as anyone else in their household or a neighbour who lives on the same street as them. As part of the offer, you can request our courier to collect any click & collect order, pickup a parcel in a locker or shop, laundry, non-frozen or chilled medication, etc. The free collection offer is not permanent, and OurParcel reserves the right to remove the offer at any time and without notice.
